Book of the Month (November 2024): “There are Characters”

Today, I would like to introduce “There are Characters,” written by Rie Kaneda.

This book is made up of essays on the people engaged in work involving characters in a variety of fields. You can take in the relationships between characters and people you may not usually pay much attention to, including stories about seal stores, the composition of classroom newsletters, time tables, script printing, liquor store signboards, and language learning.

You can learn about the ways various people deal with characters in the book.

The more I create and use characters, the increasingly profound I constantly find characters. Reading this book made me feel that characters also have a much more familiar existence to us.
