Questions for Font Creators Part 2: Favorite Kanji Glyph 3

The question “What is your favorite kanji glyph?” was asked to staff at the Type Project.
In the previous two articles, many answers with multiple glyphs, such as radicals and structure, were introduced together. In this article, answers with one glyph mentioned are introduced.

“脩”:

Although this may not be different from what I like, this is the name of the former teacher who supported me when I chose this profession.

“矢”:

This is the most familiar glyph to me.

  • CID+7710:

In Sha-Ken’s dial plate for a period of time, the default for “靱” was this, but it is rarely seen today.

As mentioned, there are several answers that show special feelings, such as a glyph used for the name of someone special, a glyph that used widely in the past but is no longer seen, etc.

In the next article, the answers for the “favorite hiragana” following kanji will be introduced.

As there may be answers from the perspectives different from kanji, please look forward to the next update.
