I would like to introduce an example of developing and providing fonts with the utilization of the FitFont technology in this article. First is an example of adjusting Type Project Japanese font to match Latin font provided by a client.
In the French car manufacturer, Alpine, there is a Latin corporate font called “Alpine Ascension,” developed by Production Type. For their correspondence in Japanese, Type Project provided the Japanese font “Alpine AXIS,” based on AXIS font as a Japanese font to be added to the Alpine Ascension family. The weight of “Alpine AXIS” was adjusted to match the weight of the Alpine Ascension family according to the FitFont technology.
